GradePower Learning Centers - Birmingham & Pelham Google Maps Business View

Educational child tutoring outside of school is not a new thing. Learning centers have been around as long as I can remember. In the past it was viewed as a way to help struggling or failing students up in grades. Now there’s just as much emphasis on taking good students and making them great. The pressure to attend college, especially a good one, has never been greater. The competitive nature of today’s job market make every grade on every test that much more important. 

So a new breed of tutoring center has come onto the scene. The Grade Power Learning Centers are one of those. Created in England, the Birmingham area now has two locations. In Birmingham off of Hwy 280 and Pelham, close to I-65. These brand new centers are amongst the very first in the United States. Rather than teach memorization, Grade Power teaches how to learn. They give the students a foundation that will help them not only now, but throughout their academic careers.

“Confidence is a big part of helping children get better grades,” says Tony Mauro, Owner and Executive Director of GradePower Birmingham. “When children start to feel better about their learning abilities, they can accomplish anything. We’re really happy to be bringing these learning opportunities to the Birmingham community.”

I’m excited to work with Tony and his team to help promote Grade Power. I created Google Maps Business View 360º virtual tours of each location, as well as conventional commercial still images. These will help the Grade Power Learning Centers stand out from their competition and give both parents and their children an opportunity to tour the centers before coming in.

Most people think restaurant, retail shopping, or attraction when it comes to the Google Maps Business View virtual tours. That does make sense. People will often choose businesses like those based solely on how the look. However, any business with a brick and mortar location, that wants people to come to it, can benefit from the program. Think of your businesses Google + Local page as its Yellow Pages listing for the modern era. In the past the larger your ad, the more your phone rang because it was more eye catching. In the same way the Google photos and tour bring more visitors to your site because the added visuals make it more eye catching. Being able to virtually tour a business will separate it out from competitors that don’t have it. Once customers do come in there’s a greater feeling of familiarity because it’s like they've been there before.

Then there’s the SEO (search engine optimization) boost. Because the businesses information and location are verified in the Google Maps Business View process, this is weighed in the search result algorithm. The more validating sources Google has, the higher you move up in the rankings relative to your competition.

Grade Power Learning Centers - Google Maps Business View Photography

Last week I created Google Maps Business View virtual tours of the two Grade Power Learning Centers in the greater Birmingham area. One is located off of Doug Baker Blvd, near HWY 280 in the Inverness area of Birmingham. The other is located on Huntley Parkway in Pelham. Both locations are some of the first Grade Power Learning Centers in the United States. Founded in England, they are a new concept here. Tony and Michele Mauro opened these centers to provide an alternative to traditional tutoring methods. The emphasis is on higher level and creative thinking rather than just memorization.

I was really impressed by Tony’s dedication to improving the lived of these children. If you are a parent of school aged children I wouldn’t hesitate to look into Grade Power!

The Neighborhood Brew - Hoover, AL Restaurant Photography

Let’s say that you want to meet up with some friends for some casual conversation. One friend wants a micro brew beer, the other is a wine connoisseur, and you just want a latte. In the past you could have gone to a brewery to sample a fine ale, but the wine and coffee options are rather poor, some wine bars have a few good beers but may not have coffee at all and certainly not an espresso. Starbucks for beer and wine? Afraid not. The solution to all of your gathering challenges has been created in Hoover! The Neighborhood Brew is a new cafe that offers a wide selection of local and foreign microbrew beers, on tap and in bottles. Their wine selection is impressive, and they offer fantastic coffees and espressos. Of course there are sandwiches, pastries, and various other cafe foods as well. Owners Craig and Michele, who moved here from Wisconsin, have done an amazing job of creating a warm, comfortable ambiance to match the variety of beverages and food they offer.

I was very excited to create a Google Maps Business View virtual tour for them. As a new business it can be tough getting the word out, and even tougher to make an impact on Google. The virtual tour I created will help them rise in the search results and help them stand out from the Starbucks and regular brew pubs. I love to see new ideas from local businesses and I enjoy spreading the word to help them out! Canales Orthodontics - Alabaster, Alabama Commercial Photography

Angie and Chris Canales are a husband and wife orthodontics team practicing in the Birmingham area. They have three locations, Alabaster, Gardendale, and Brookwood. The Alabaster location is the newest and that’s the one they hired me to create the Google Maps Business View virtual tour of. I will say that I was very excited to create the tour and commercial images. Angie did all the design herself and I must say that she did a fantastic job! The colors, materials, light, are all great and a photographers dream. While I don’t have need for their services yet (I do have 3 kids with number 4 on the way), I can tell you that they are both very wonderful people to work with. Very positive and engaging. Chris and Angie are innovative thinkers as well. The iPad stations for those waiting are like nothing I’ve seen before.
